Iii. Requirements and design of lithium battery shell

 

 

 

Lithium battery shell design can be divided into: PVC heat seal, plastic, metal

 

 

 

PVC heat sealing: what kind of outer shell packaging form is adopted outside the battery pack mainly depends on the specific requirements of the customer's products. For the packaging form of PVC heat sealing, it is generally applicable to the case of small number of battery strings and relatively light overall weight (≤2kg), it can be adopted. However, for the battery pack with the overall weight ≥1kg, it is necessary to add a fixed bracket between the electric cells, and use PVC heat sealing after the perimeter is protected by glass fiber board.

 

 

 

Plastic: plastic shell, mainly different battery pack after finalize the design, involving shell may need to open mold, mold fee is a lot of money, such as the early stage of the development, the product did not finalize the design, can use hand shell proofing (hand strength after mould shape is better than material strength), the material and process of shell (especially the belt is three demands), will also affect the cost.

 

 

 

Metal: metal shell is the same as plastic shell, before the product is not finalized or the quantity demand is not much, it is recommended to use sheet metal sample making, which is mainly to make the sample delivery time is shorter, such as large batch, it is also recommended to open the mold. For the metal shell waterproof grade requirements, will greatly affect the cost, and is a special material (such as titanium alloy, etc.) metal shell requirements, the cost will be higher.

 

 

 

The cost of lithium battery is mainly composed of the battery cell, PCM and structural parts, and the enterprise's PACK cost, aging cost and management cost need to be added.
