            New technology for power batteries that can help improve life

            The silicon polymer material invented by American scientists greatly improves the performance of silicon in the technological progress of battery materials, thus making a major breakthrough in the life of power battery, so it can be said that this kind of power battery is a polymer battery.
             
            In fact, using silicon as a battery material is now a novel technology, because it can maintain abundant energy while charging. But the material also has an obvious drawback: it expands and ruptures as it charges, making it unusable. Scientists at the Stanford university SLAC laboratory have solved this problem by developing self-repairing silicon electrodes.
             
            The self-healing compound, developed by chao wang from Stanford and hui wu from tsinghua university in Beijing, can repair itself instantly and extend its life by 10 times. In the current lithium battery system, there are mainly three kinds of positive electrode: lithium cobalt acid, lithium manganese acid and lithium iron phosphate battery, and ternary lithium battery is a combination of materials, which is based on the three kinds of battery variants. While the anode material is basically carbon-based, or graphite, or artificial graphite, the silicon anode is a new technology that helps increase battery capacity.
             
            But the brittleness of silicon's negative electrode makes it brittle, so the two researchers created a silicon polymer with weak chemical bonds that, when the material breaks, attract each other, allowing it to be reformed within hours. The ultimate goal of the material is to achieve 3,000 discharge cycles for use in electric cars.
